Who is running for what?

The District 3 U.S. House of Representatives seat is an open seat, meaning that incumbent Drew Ferguson chose not to seek reelection. Republican candidates for District 3 are Brian Jack, Jim Bennett, Michael Dugan, Mike Crane, Philip Singleton and Ray Blair. A runoff election — if needed — will be June 18.

District 3 Democratic candidates are Val Almonord and Maura Keller. George Cantrell is listed as an independent candidate.

Here are the other May 21 contested races across Fayette:

Incumbent District 3 Fayette County Board of Education member Scott Hollowell is being challenged in the Republican Primary by Anne Menaldo.

Two Democrats — Bobby R. Jones and John R. Tate — are vying for their party’s nomination to the Fayette County Commission Post 2, a slot now held by Chairman Lee Hearn, a Republican.

In the county commission Post 5 Democratic race, fromer Fayette County Development Authority Chairman Darryl Hicks is running against Quentin “Q” Pullen.
